Overview
The tour THE COFFEE ROUTE takes you to meet the organic coffee producers, their families and the plantations. Participate in the harvest, pulping, milling, grinding and at the end taste a coffee prepared by yourself in an artisanal way.
Discover and be part of each stage of organic coffee production, from harvesting to tasting. Visit coffee plantations above 1700 m.a.s.l. and discover why high altitude coffees are famous for being better in the cup.
As we go through the coffee plantations we will discover different tropical plants such as bananas, tree tomatoes, coca plants, chili peppers, lemons, oranges, pacae mono, papaya, rocotos, yucca, uncucha, among others. You will be able to taste seasonal fruit.
During the trip, we cross the sacred valley of the Incas, the town of Ollantaytambo. We ascend to the Malaga pass, from which we will have beautiful views of the snow-capped mountains, while descending to the valley of QUILLABAMBA we will enjoy the cloud forest.

Itinerary
We start the tour with the pick up from the hotel in Cusco at 7:30 am to go to the jungle Quillabamba (Santa Teresa), throughout this stretch we can enjoy the view of beautiful landscapes and snowy; the trip is approximately 4 hours and a half.
(Cusco – Santa Maria). In the town of Santa Maria we will have our lunch to recharge energy and to be able to make our walk along the Inca Trail (2hrs. And a half approx.) To the community of Vista Alegre where our campsite and coffee plantations are; arriving we will be able to rest, relax and explore the area.
In the evening we will enjoy our dinner accompanied by a warm campfire.
On the second day we will have a delicious local breakfast tasting local products and the delicious freshly ground Quillabamba coffee, after breakfast we will go to the coffee plantations where we will learn the whole procedure of harvesting, grinding and washing of coffee, we can also learn and perform the roasting and grinding of coffee which is the final procedure to taste a delicious cup of coffee.
At the end of the day we return to the city of Cusco.
