RAFTING FULL DAY

Group Size: 10

Altitud: 3,430 m.s.n.m – max

Overview

Rafting in Cusco, one of the best rivers for canoeing in Southern Peru is located near the mountains around Cusco. So if you want to try this sport this is the best place! All our day trips are done on the Vilcanota River, the duration on the water is about 1 hour and a half.
This is the same river that runs through the sacred valley of the Incas and was worshiped and respected by the Incas as the bringer of life. This is a very adrenaline-pumping activity that also offers very unique Andean landscapes, landscapes that one can hardly appreciate from the road. The levels of the rapids vary according to the time of the year.
All the guides are trained in rescue and first aid in canoeing, so they adapt easily to the river, besides being able to have readings of the river and be prepared for any eventuality.

No experience is necessary for canoeing (at least you must know how to swim). However, if you are experienced and want something more challenging, we can also offer trips suitable for you.
Level I: Really easy without any risk, we just let the current take us.
Level II: Somewhat choppy currents with small rocks.
Level III: More choppy currents, rocks, some eddies (Nice).
Level IV: These rapids are exciting and there is some risk involved.
Level V: Stronger and more fun than class IV, with risk, it is more commercial between canoeing levels. For these rapids it is necessary to have a safety kayak with the group.
– Cusipata
This section of the river is the calmest offered in canoeing, if well adapted to fearful beginners and children. It is fairly flat, levels I & II; II – in the dry season May – September. In the rainy season it can reach level III.
– Chuquicahuana
This section of the river is more adventurous. In the dry season it is still quite nice with rapids up to level III, however in the rainy season the rapids can reach level IV.
